RESOLUTION of the ALDURIAN PARLIAMENT
The Expansion Moratorium Resolution, 1680

Reflecting a binding sense of the Parliament to impose a moratorium on further expansion and colonization in the continent of Eura, to  secure the regional peace and prosperity, and focus on the self-development and realization of the Republic; among other purposes.

DESIRING to proclaim to all of our neighbors in the continent of Eura our commitment to the peace and regional stability and our promise to maintain a spirit of genuine neighborly goodwill;

NOTING that conflicts in Modern Micras can quickly and easily escalate as the systems of worldwide alliances continue to grow and complicate further in an unstable world;

RECOGNIZING the challenges that the Republic of Alduria faces require the constant and thorough attention of our policymakers and lawmakers, so we can direct our resources and attention to building a nation that can be a beacon of liberty, equality, and inclusion for Eura and the world; -
 

 

It is Resolved by the Aldurian Parliament that:

 

1. This resolution shall be officially cited as the "Expansion Moratorium Act, 1680", and shall apply to all of the Republic of Alduria.
   
2. It is the sense of the Parliament of Alduria that the Republic must halt further territorial expansions for the foreseeable future.
   
3. A "foreseeable future" is defined, for the purposes of this resolution only, as at least 10 AN years (10 RL months) but no more than 12 AN years (12 RL months).
   
4. The aforementioned moratorium on territorial expansions shall apply to Aldurian expansions on any other Micran continent.
   
5. It is the sense of the Parliament of Alduria that the Republic of Alduria should work to maintain an Euran equilibrium of power, and seek to discourage or prevent one nation or party from imposing its will on or interfering with the interests of another.
   
6. This resolution is binding and policy of the Republic of Alduria, which can be rescinded by a an Act or Resolution of Parliament or Presidential Order.
