Prime Minister Zimmer’s Message to the market
#1
Camera’s flash as the Prime Minister walks up to the podium, ready to make an announcement

Thank you all for gathering here today.

Since my election as Prime Minister, we have unfortunately seen a downturn in the markets. This is unfortunate and because of this I have seen it is important to respond. I have currently been very busy doing a lot of thing with my new government and getting ready and settled to govern in the best interests of our country so I apologise that I could not respond sooner.

It is sad that the markets feel threatened by the election of me. I am a proud Democratic Socialist, I have no fear in saying that. But I will not nationalise everything left right and centre. We will only nationalise or keep in public ownership core sectors such as Health Care, Water, Oil, and Education. We will also not be perusing a free market approach. While this may cause a short term shock to the economic system, we believe that we must end sure there are regulations to protect the consumer and the worker. We must ensure workers rights however we do not see business as the enemy. We see business as a partner to work with to further our country.

But our system for the economy can, and will work, if we have the support from all private sectors. Because with things such as the minimum coming in and being raised in line with inflation so that people can live off it, there will be more money in people’s pockets, this will lead to more disposable income to be spent in our economy which in return results in more money to go to growing the business, creating more jobs with a wage you can live off and so on and so forth. That is just one example of how we can work together to further our economy.

So overall, my message to the market is, things will be different yes. But that doesn’t mean the alternative approach we will bring won’t be better. I want a fairer country, but we can’t do that without a strong economy. So I ask businesses to support us while we are in government and see what benefits it can bring to everyone. So we have a fairer Alduria, for all.
